Hotel Akvamarín Bešeňová

A fabulous hotel at the best water park in Slovakia. The rooms are exquisite and the location right in the water park is second to none. Plus access to a reserved pool after the water park closes is great. I felt the service needed some improvement mind you, but maybe that’s me being English is a Slovakian resort. Interestingly everything is also quoted in English but no one really knows how to speak it.

Rooms are spacious ! Comfy beds and great water pressure. Kitchen with utensils pots and pans which was very convenient. The hotel has several pools and thermal center and various water slides . The hotel offers a package including Tatralandia water park (20 min drive) and besanova water park adjacent to the hotel. The kids had a great time. Would strongly recommend and return.

My family (incl boys - 7 & 11) stayed for five nights. Questions asked to the hotel before arrival were answered promptly, and no problems using English throughout the stay. Check-in was smooth, including a warm reception by Khrystina (sp). The hotel itself was great. Very clean, and all staff members were very friendly. Our room (exclusive apartment on the top floor) was very spacious, with a nice view. A luggage rack would have been useful. Loved that it had two bathrooms. Comfortable beds our room quiet, even though we were right next to the elevator. Kids enjoyed the game areas; would be nice to have more. The elevators are poorly designed. Each needs to be called separately and do not have floor indicators (save for in the lobby); guests likely push multiple buttons to see which comes first. Wristband needed to activate...which is dumb, as the stairs are right next to the elevator and one could walk up unimpeded. Food quality is very important to me. I thought breakfast was ok at best. Not terribly interesting, and items ranged from not great (runny scrambled eggs) to a couple good items. Most of it was blah. No live station to make things to order, and no fresh juices. Skippable, if it weren't included in the price. Dinners however were well done. A number of standout items. Again, a live station would make it more special. Drinks need to be ordered. Jugs of water (with ice and lemon optional) available for only 1 euro. Service was generally great and friendly, though a couple times the server took way too long to come and ask what we wanted to drink. Would be nice to provide some sort of snack buffet option between meals. Cable car access was included (we were allowed to use twice during our five-night stay). Make sure you have your gopass available and all family members registered. Ours were not immediately ready, and they started assigning physical cards to us for 2 euros each. I suspect that the cable car passes could have been loaded onto our digital passes, but hotel staff said we needed both the physical card they were selling to us as well as our digital passes. I suspect that isn't true and we got charged extra for no reason, but would be interesting to see how others fare in this regard. Finally, the pools. The hotel shares access to the water park with another hotel property, and it can get a bit crowded at times (particularly when the weather is bad and no one is skiing). Mornings were less busy. The pools were really nice, and I'm assuming the place would be even better in the summer when more pools and slides are open. The indoor water slides were all closed tubes that you had to lie down to ride (save for one), in case that makes a difference to you. Lots of chairs available, though they tend to get taken up when it's extremely busy. They have a whole bank of chairs next to the kiddie pool that need to be rented, which I thought was dumb; they were entirely empty when I was there. The wave pool is brilliant, and is on for about 15 minutes each hour. Little kid indoor water area is also really well done. Outdoor pools were very enjoyable, even in the colder winter temperatures. I was impressed that they have lifeguards stationed at each pool. Not commonly seen in Europe. The private pool is fantastic. So much quieter than the other pools at all times as only hotel guests have access, and wonderful with the geothermal water. Probably my favorite area. The wellness spa is also really nice. Quietest in the morning. The spa shows are great. This is a nude spa, but most everyone uses provided towels. This was the first wellness area I've been to that didn't include some sort of refreshment (I saw one water fountain) but drinks available for purchase. I would say in terms of facilities, this is a great hotel. The hotel could up its game cuisine-wise; the hotels we've been to in Austria have been better in this regard. Kids want to go back and we probably will do so!
